Seedy Sunday - Seed Swap day

Thanks to everybody who contributed to the success of our first seed swap day. Loads of interesting seeds were swopped and we look forward to hearing how you all get on with your seed sowing. Don't forget any questions or problems just pop into the farm on Sunday afternoons and we will do our best to help. There are also some seeds left in the shop at cost price (courgette, broad beans) and a few odds and ends of seeds from the swap. Seed potatoes at cost price were very popular as well and there still a few varieties left in the farm shop.

This Sunday in the Gardening Club we'll be doing seed sowing as we all feel inspired after the seed swap. Anybody welcome!

Seed swap!

We are having a Seed Swap at Stonebridge on Sunday 28 February between 12 and 3pm, all welcome! Bring any of your unwanted or extra seeds to swop but feel free to come along even if you've got no seeds. There'll be seeds to swop for free, demonstrations and different activities as well as some good food in the cafe! (Matt is promising to cook a curry!)
Look forward to seeing you there.

New polytunnel!

Thanks to everybody who helped put up our new polytunnel on Thursday. It was hard work covering it with plastic and chicken wire but a real sense of achievement once it was completed. Now, we are all really excited about starting to use it!
Today has been a beautiful sunny day on the farm although very cold. The Gardening Club and Drop In/Advice sessions will be starting next Sunday (7 February) between 12 and 3 pm so looking forward to seeing some of you there.
Cheers

"re-skinning" the polytunnel.

Hi everybody

Thought youlike to see a photo of our polytunnel as it is now. On Thursday we will be "re-skinning" it with new plastic, ready for sowing all those spring seeds.

Cheers,

Audrey.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all the Green Streeters! The farm has looked beautiful with the covering of snow but there's not been much gardening going on thanks to the weather. We've got lots planned for the coming year though and as soon as it defrosts a bit more we'll be starting the Sunday volunteers group again so we can work off all those extra calories gained over the last few weeks. There'll be a seed swap in late February to get us organised for spring planting, so get sorting all those unwanted and extra seeds!
Cheers
Audrey
